Your kids are ready to put their skills to the test!

Kids club members are invited to two Champion's Creed (members-only) tournaments in May, where they can test out their martial arts skills in a safe and friendly environment!

Parents are welcome to come, see how their kids are doing, and cheer them on from the sidelines.

Who: Kids Club Members

When:

  • Jiu-Jitsu Club Tournament: Wednesday, May 22, 2019
  • Kickboxing Skills Tournament: Thursday, May 23, 2019

Where: Champion's Creed Martial Arts

Jiu-Jitsu Tournament: Wednesday, May 22, 2019

What: 3-minute rounds, round-robin competition, separating the kids by age and weight.

Matches start from standing.

Fighters who move onto or outside the border when standing will (at the discretion of the referee) be restarted in the centre of the mat.

If fighters move outside the area while on the ground (both fighters have at least one knee down), then the action is frozen, and they are moved back to the centre of the mat in their current position.

The referee can stop or restart a match at any time if he considers it necessary for safety reasons.

The referee's decision is final and non-negotiable.

Ways to win:

  • Submission (physical or verbal tap-out)
  • Referees Stoppage (medical or rule infringement)
  • Corner stops fight

Kickboxing Tournament: Thursday, May 23, 2019

What: Muay Thai / Kickboxing tournament consisting of various competitive drills (no striking to the head).

Kids will be split up into groups by age and size.

The objective is to try and outmaneuver each other by outscoring their teammate with particular goals.

For example, members will be asked to demonstrate techniques like elbow tags and scoring leg kicks, all while keeping a great fighter defensive stance to block and counter-attack.

This will be a fun night for parents to see how the kids are moving and how they are learning to realistically apply their skills in a friendly, competitive way.

Not a member? Why not give Martial Arts a try?

The instructors and staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful, but many of the students too. -Rick Landry
