What's up Doc? Meet Brice Willis. (we thought it was Bruce Willis at first too)
Just like our die hard hero, at the end of the day Brice leaves it all on the mat.
Brice is a busy guy but we had a chance to catch up and talk with him a bit today here is what he had to say.
I teach Brazilian jiu-jitsu and wrestling. One of my favourite things about Brazilian jiu-jitsu is getting in a state where you are present in the moment with what you are doing.
This gets your body and mind connected with the activity that you're in.
I also love that it has a kind of chess type element to it, you have to think of the moves ahead, plan, anticipate and react.
For me, this is a positive place where I can have a little bit of release from stress.
But also to have some positive social interaction. For me specifically, I actually did my dissertation for my doctorate degree in psychology, on the benefits of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and how that helps to build character and quality of life.
From my perspective I believe it helps people inside and outside the gym as well.
I think my favourite move is Spiral Armbar. It’s a specific submission where you can use your hips and your body for leverage against the person's arm. That increases your likelihood of finishing the submission.
This is what coach Brian Bird had to say about Brice;
Brice is our best practitioner of the sport, he is one of the most consistent and dedicated. He is a strong leader and when he teaches he is very analytical, he can break it all down because he fully understands it.
BJJ is a combat sport and so when Brice applies it when he is sparring he beats everybody. They don't call him Brice Spice for nothing.
On a personal level Brice is always there to take any one under his wing, when new people come to the gym Brice will walk right up, introduce himself and say come on and train with me. He goes above and beyond to help others.

We would love for you to meet Brice in person, it will be an extraordinary experience!
