Jonathan: "Exposure to fighting, seemed like a fun interesting program, fitness."
Jonathan: "Having a great time, seeing how everyone performs, not getting choked out in the first 30 seconds."
Jonathan: "The people, looking forward to waking up in the morning."
Jonathan: "Do it, it's worth it."
Jonathan: "Born and raised in Calgary. Had a cousin who was into Muay Thai (and still is) who introduced me to the sport 10 years ago when I was just starting university for accounting. Enjoyed it but eventually got too busy to really put much time into martial arts so I wasn’t involved for many years. Got back into the sport casually about a year or two ago as a way to de-stress after work. Bounced from gym to gym for a little while but didn’t always have a particularly good time. Eventually found myself at Champion's Creed and I found that I really enjoyed the environment and the community spirit. Growing up, I was always much more into intellectual pursuits so I don’t have much experience in competitive sports. When the coaches announced this Wimp2Warrior program, I was very interested because it was a great way to get that experience and try something completely different. Never tried Jiu-Jitsu or wrestling until this program. Striking is where it’s at.
As for a bio, I’m a Vice President of a utility company also in Calgary and just about to jump into an MBA program. My background has always been numbers, sports cars, and building computers. Bit of a techie. Been a ballroom dancer for the last 14 years. Really miss giving up drinking for this program because I make a killer bottle of wine."
