Nick: "I joined Wimp 2 Warrior to develop my self-defence skills so that I can protect my family should the need arise. I never want to feel helpless if I, or my family, were threatened."
Nick: "I am looking forward to conquering my fears on fight night. I know I may lose. I may get submitted, or even get knocked out. Though I will do everything I can to win. Knowing that I am prepared to face something that most people wouldn't dare, brings me satisfaction."
Nick: "My favourite part of the program is seeing my progress and the progress of my training partners. I've gone from never having applied a submission hold, to doing so regularly. I've gone from being afraid of getting punched in the face, to knowing that I can handle more than I ever knew. I love the confidence this program has given me."
Nick: "If you're considering joining Wimp 2 Warrior, do it! Opportunities like this in life are rare. W2W does not come to every city, and seasons in life may prevent you from doing this at a later date. There are few things in life that have given me as much satisfaction or excitement. Don't let this opportunity slip through your fingers. I almost chickened out, and I am so glad that I pushed myself beyond my usual boundaries."
Nick: "I am the son of a Hungarian father and British mother. I have three amazing daughters. My wife and I volunteer regularly at our church, and I teach French in the public school system.
Growing up, I loved professional wrestling. As a teenager, I travelled over two hours by public transit to receive training as a pro wrestler. At the time I stood 6’4 and weighed 160 lbs soaking wet. My ectomorphic build and lack of athleticism made the world of pro wrestling out of reach.
I then started writing and performing comedy. I dedicated all of my energies toward stand-up comedy for several years, performing in and around both Calgary and Toronto. I even won the Phil Hartman Comedy Award from Humber College.
I flirted with martial arts a few times in my life, but never did it for very long. My first exposure to MMA was UFC 2. I watched several more PPVs before the UFC started to fade. I officially became hooked when I was exposed to it once again in 2005. As an MMA junkie, I yearned to learn Jiu-Jitsu, but circumstances were never right.
When I saw Wimp 2 Warrior, the stars seemed to have aligned. I now find myself on a martial arts journey that I couldn’t have imagined would begin for me at age 46. It has now indeed begun and I am so glad that it has."
